Jeddah Corniche Circuit
Unsurprisingly situated along Jeddah’s 30km Corniche, a coastal resort area of the ancient Saudi Arabian city, the Jeddah Corniche Circuit is a temporary street track with some permanent elements. This high-speed design, conceived by the Tilke company in collaboration with Formula 1’s Motorsports team (who even utilised Google Earth for initial layout explorations), embodies F1’s vision for a thrilling race. As F1’s Ross Brawn articulated, the aim was to create “fast sweeping circuits” that would truly challenge the drivers and provide an exhilarating experience, moving away from traditional, slower street circuit layouts.
