The Chinese Grand Prix was cancelled in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. After its return to the Formula 1® calendar in 2024, it is set again to run again in 2026. The Shanghai International Circuit is a 5.451-kilometer (3.344-mile) circuit that is designed to be challenging for both drivers and cars. The circuit has a number of long straights and high-speed corners, as well as some tight hairpins.
