Lily Allen is an English singer, songwriter and actress who rose to fame in the mid-2000s with her sharp wit, genre-blending sound and distinctive social commentary. Born in London in 1985 to actor Keith Allen and film producer Alison Owen, she developed an early passion for music while growing up in a creative household. Her breakthrough came in 2006 with her debut album Alright, Still, featuring hit singles including Smile and LDN. She continued her success with It’s Not Me, It’s You in 2009, expanding her sound into electro-pop and earning widespread critical acclaim. After a short hiatus, Allen returned with Sheezus in 2014 and later No Shame in 2018, which received a Mercury Prize nomination.
